Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Marine Highway System released its 2022 summer schedule, and with the release, a full year of ferry sailings are available through September of next year for booking for the first time.
The State Department of Transportation said the full-year schedule provides for scheduled maintenance of the ferry fleet and aims to offer reliability for Alaskan businesses that wish to utilize ferry service as a component of their business model.
The forward funding allows further seasonal scheduling, which was recommended by the Alaska Marine Highway Reshaping Work Group, which recommended the forward funding concept.
The Marine Highway summer schedule covers ferry travel from May through September 2022. Reservations are available for booking at FerryAlaska.com, by calling 1-800-642-0066, or by visiting ferry terminal staff throughout the system.
