Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - PND Engineers presented the small cruise ship infrastructure master plan to the CBJ Docks and Harbors Board Thursday night.
Port Director Carl Uchytil said the board was shown six different options for future development to support the small cruise ships, vessels of under 275 feet in length, that service Juneau.
The preferred option was a new development along the Goldbelt Seadrome marina and the NOAA dock front.
Other options mentioned included several on the downtown waterfront, the rock dump, Harris Harbor, Douglas Harbor and Auke Bay.
The engineers looked at locations as north as Echo Cove for this new facility.
The board also approved a professional services contract with Haight and Associates for $226,895 for a dock electrification study. It would study the two docks owned by the CBJ.
