Coast Guard rescues boy injured while hiking

    Haines, Alaska (KINY) - The US Coast Guard Air Station Sitka helicopter crew responded to the report of a child injured while hiking near Haines late Wednesday.

    According to a Facebook post by the US Coast Guard Alaska, the helicopter crew was able to locate the 12-year-old boy and return him to his mother.

    The Coast Guard said the child received further medical care but revealed no other details about the extent of the injury.
