AMHS Announces New Protocols to Minimize Transmission of COVID-19

Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - All passengers, three years and older, on the mainline ferries, the Kennicott, Matanuska, and Tustumena are required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result before boarding.

The Alaska Marine Highway said all passengers on the day vessels, LeConte and Lituya, are required to complete a passenger screening form before they board.

All passengers getting on board in Bellingham, Washington must complete the mandatory State of Alaska Travel Declaration Form and provide these to AMHS crews at boarding.

All passengers and crew must wear a face covering while onboard except in a stateroom on the Kennicott, Matanuska, and Tustumena.

All passengers and crew must wear a face covering while onboard the LeConte and Lituya unless they are in a designated smoking area or while eating.

Passengers and crew also can not go ashore during port calls.  Passengers will be allowed ashore only upon arrival at their destination port.

Social distancing will also be required onboard all vessels.
